LNURL QR code

You can make a text or button link on your website for Bitcoin donations or tips. The link contains information such as the wallet address and the suggested amount. When someone clicks on it, the browser will look to see if you have a Bitcoin wallet installed. If you have more than one wallet it will let you choose. It will then ask you for permission to open the wallet and load the transaction automatically.

For lightning payments, creating a link is not so simple! You cannot not put an html link for a lightning invoice on your website. You need a fresh link for every transaction.

Fortunately there is the LNURL protocol. It can creates a LNURL link for you. You specify the amount (e.g. $2.00), or make it variable. The link never expires. Unfortunately this only works if the sender has a LNURL compatible wallet.
